Location
Kogalla Lake has attracted a number of smart villa developments in recent years. This villa sits reasonably close to a few lovely homes but feels wonderfully private with no sight of immediate neighbours once you’re within the property.
Koggala Lake is just inland from Habaraduwa and some of the prettiest beaches of the South Coast. Drive time to the ocean is around 15 minutes. Getting to Galle will take around 40 minutes with Central Colombo and the International Airport both around two and a half hours’ drive.
A little removed from the hustle of the main coastal strip the location is perfect for those wanting a quieter, calmer feel. The level of the lake, unlike some in Sri Lanka, remains fairly constant through the year and, being right on the shoreline, the property has a great sense of privacy.
The current owners do not rent the property but the area is popular with tourists and, within easy distance of Galle and southern beaches, there would certainly be scope to do so.
