Overview

This beach villa must have one of the most unique and enviable locations of any in Sri Lanka. High up and tucked slightly away from the Western end of Mawella Beach it has supreme views south over the Indian Ocean. Views North look out over Mawella Lagoon and from certain points of the land you see the full sweep of Mawella Beach itself.

The villa was designed and built by an English architect and has Tropical Modern styling with a simple, minimalist feel. Floor-to-ceiling pivoted doors swing open making the most of the views from every bedroom and living space

    The likes of The Last House and Halcyon Mawella define that trend and, while things are happening on the beach, we don’t foresee any stampede of more budget-focused development to greatly change that feel.

  • Around the headland from the Western tip of Mawella Beach the villa is within walking distance of that beach and a short drive (10 minutes) from Hiriketiya and Dickwella.

    Tangalle is the nearest large town, also around 10 minutes drive. Access to the highway is typically via Beliatta with Colombo and the International Airport around two and half hours drive.
